Police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating wanted man Ronald Ernesto Swaby, 28, after he failed to show up in court.
Swaby was recently found guilty of possession of an imitation firearm following a Grand Court trial and was on bail awaiting sentencing.
However, he failed to attend his scheduled court appearance on Monday 17 April.
His bail has since been revoked.
“Swaby, having been convicted of a serious criminal offence, is considered to be a fugitive evading the criminal justice process,” police said in a press release issued Thursday night.
“The RCIPS is warning anyone who chooses to aid, assist or harbor him that this is a criminal offence, which may lead to a lengthy period of imprisonment, and we will investigate anyone who does so.”
The RCIPS has advised that if members of the public catch sight of Swaby, they should not approach him but to instead call 911.
Investigators are encouraging anyone with information about Swaby’s whereabouts to call the George Town Police Station at 949-4222 or dial 911, specifically if the circumstances are time-sensitive.
Anonymous tips can be provided directly to the RCIPS confidential tip line at 949-7777, or via the police website.
