Police are investigating a possible firearm-related incident after a man sought medical attention for what appeared to be a gunshot wound on Thursday night.
Just before 7:30pm on Thursday, officers responded to the Cayman Islands Hospital where it was reported that a patient was being aggressive and disruptive, the RCIPS said in a press release.
When officers arrived they were told that the man attended the hospital with a wound to the foot which, after an examination, appeared to have been caused by a gunshot.
Police said the man was believed to have been in the Shedden Road area of George Town, near the Martin Drive junction, prior to being transported by private car to the hospital for treatment.
Detectives are asking anyone with information to call the George Town Police Station at 949-4222 or provide anonymous tips directly to the police via the confidential tip line at 949-7777, or via the RCIPS website.
