Advertised as a ‘rain or shine’ music festival, Out of This World organisers were true to their word as Saturday’s daytime downpour did not put a stop to the party.
Thousands turned out to Festival Green in Camana Bay to catch renowned artists Sean Paul, Busta Rhymes, Elephant Man and Patrice Roberts hit the stage for the evening event.
And, as if it was planned, the rain stopped just in time for the world-class performances – leaving muddied feet but no dampened spirits.

The first of the international acts, Trinidadian soca sensation Patrice Roberts, brought carnival colour, connection and charisma to Cayman.
She performed crowd-pleasing hits including ‘Mind My Business’, ‘Carry On’ and ‘Tender’, setting the mood for the rest of the concert.
The energy continued when Jamaica’s dancehall veteran O’Neil Bryan aka Elephant Man, dressed from head to toe in silver, bounded onto the stage with his flag-waving crew.
Despite telling the crowd he had hurt his knee and been given several stitches, he refused to let that stop the spectacle and even climbed onto a towering pile of speakers as he sang.
Next, performing for the first time in the Cayman Islands, 51-year-old US rapper and hip-hop artist Busta Rhymes played a full set with hit music from his 10 studio albums.
He ended his part of the show by saying “the energy is incredible in the Cayman Islands” and spraying champagne over the front rows of the crowd.
Headline act Sean Paul was undeniably the most anticipated artist of the evening, and, by the time he hit the stage, the festival grounds were heaving with party-goers.
The Jamaican dancehall and reggae legend did not disappoint, playing hits including ‘Like Glue’, ‘Temperature’ and ‘Gimme the Light’ to an excited and appreciative audience.
At the close of the festival, spectators streamed from the site talking with enthusiasm about the performances – but also expressing some upset about the lengthy queues.

One told the Compass that it was “the only thing that’s out of this world”.
Wait time to enter the festival reached about 45 minutes at its peak, while queues for drink tickets and drinks were not far behind.
