The Department of Education Services (DES) is asking parents of children affected in Friday’s school bus collision to contact John Gray High School should their child require counselling support.
Investigations into the crash, which involved a truck, are ongoing.
In an update on the incident Saturday morning, the DES said six students, the bus driver and bus warden were initially transported to the Cayman Islands Hospital following the collision and were “assessed to have suffered minor injuries”.
The Cayman Compass was told none of the individuals involved in the collision were in hospital as of Saturday morning.
It is unclear if anyone was hospitalised overnight.
The collision occurred near the Red Bay Primary School at approximately 3:30pm, DES said.
DES added that first responders, DES personnel and school representatives arrived quickly on the scene.
Arrangements were made to ensure the remaining students arrived home safely.
Police said the driver of the truck in the crash was not injured.
Both drivers were breath-tested with negative result.
