Johann Moxam and Cline Glidden Jr. have both been reappointed to their positions as chairmen of the Cayman Islands Airports Authority Board and the Port Authority, respectively.
Cabinet, in its 15 Aug. meeting, approved the reappointment of both men to the leadership roles. All members of both boards were also approved for reappointment.
The appointments were published in the government gazette on Monday.

Moxam and the CIAA board was first appointed back in September 2021 and led the authority through Cayman’s border reopening. They will once again hold the reins as the CIAA looks to its airport expansion plans.
“We have a strong board that has been reappointed [and] works well with the management team. We are proud of the changes made at CIAA under our regime thus far and the trajectory we are on at present,” Moxam told the Cayman Compass in a short comment.
Back in May, Cabinet approved an outline business case for four specific airport-related projects, contained within the 20-year master plan, which will cost a total of almost $76 million.
Government plans to build a new $42 million general aviation terminal and spend $4.7 million on air traffic control surveillance at Owen Roberts International Airport, as well as the expansion of its runway to 1,900 feet to accommodate larger airplanes on long-haul routes.
Moxam, when asked for comment on the plan ahead for the CIAA, said, “The strategic objectives and plans that have been laid out thus far are all subject to the governments budget process and the national priorities of the sitting government.”

Glidden welcomed his reappointment as chair of the Port Authority board of directors and the reappointment of the directors.
“I look forward to, along with the other members of the board, continuing to represent the best interest of the Port Authority and its most valuable asset being the staff as we continue to provide the critically essential services to our clients in the most professional, courteous and efficient manner. We will continue to strive for the improvement of our services both in regards to Cargo and Cruise Services while implementing the policies and plans of the Government,” Glidden told the Compass Thursday afternoon.
Richard Parchment has been reappointed as the Port Authority’s deputy chair, and members Irma Arch, Edgar A. Bodden, Jacqueline Scott-Rankine, Matthew Adam and Giovani Bolen-Powery have all been reappointed as members.
The other members of the CIAA board that were reappointed includes Marva Reid as deputy chair, along with directors Roy Grant, Alfred Thompson Jr., Jacqueline Haynes, Nathaniel Tibbetts and Jonathan Edie.
