The Cayman Islands’ four special edition Christmas stamps are on sale now at all post offices and feature colourful images of traditional thatch work.
The stamps are valued at 25c, 75c, 80c and $2, which purchasers can buy individually or in a first-day cover costing $4.60.
The collector’s cover holds all four stamps and includes a brochure providing information on Cayman’s thatch-making and trading history.
Postmaster General Sheena Glasgow said, “Once again, we at the Postal Service are delighted to bring out a joyous issue for the Christmas festive season, something that is a favourite among our releases each year.
“We feel happy to know that the stamps will spread some traditional cheer and joy, yet highlight an important aspect of Caymanian tradition and life.”
Glasgow added, “I hope the stamp issue brings as much joy to our customers – all the end users including collectors – as it has to us at the Postal Service.”
The stamps are available at all Cayman’s post offices while the first-day covers can be bought at Seven Mile Post Office, Hell Post Office and the General Post Office.
