Police are appealing for witnesses to an incident on Seven Mile Public Beach on Sunday morning, 17 Dec., in which a man was stabbed.
A video of the incident has been circulating on social media.
In a statement issued on Thursday, 21 Dec., the RCIPS said officers had attended the scene after receiving a report of a fight involving multiple individuals in the early hours of the morning.
By the time officers arrived at 1:45am, the people involved had left the location, police said.
Later that morning, a man attended the Cayman Islands Hospital with lacerations and stab wounds that he had received during the incident.
He remained in hospital Thursday, being treated for what appear to be serious but non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
Police said they were “aware of social media circulations of this incident that identify a number of persons present at the location at the time”, adding that they were working to locate those individuals.
The RCIPS is requesting anyone who witnessed the incident to contact the Criminal Investigations Department at 949-4222.
