Specialised forensic testing is still being conducted on Adrian Williamson, the man whose remains were found in East End in November, to determine how he died, police have confirmed.

The RCIPS, in a short statement responding to Cayman Compass queries on the case on Tuesday, said that the investigation into Williamson’s death is still ongoing.

“Forensic anthropological testing is being carried out and an inquest will follow,” police told the Compass.

Williamson, 26, a Jamaican national, was reported missing in July, 2022.

Williamson’s remains were recovered in the mangrove area of East End on 30 Nov.

Police confirmed his identity on 9 Dec.

Williamson was residing in George Town at the time of his disappearance and was last seen at his home on 6 July.

He was reported missing the following day.

In Williamson’s initial missing person report, police said he was last seen wearing a green T-shirt, long black pants, black slippers and carrying a brown and black backpack.

Police said the man was discovered wearing a black top, black jeans with grey Manchester United shorts underneath, and black Jordan slippers on his feet.

An “expert anthropologist” was working with health officials to examine the remains in “an attempt to assist the investigation,” police said in early December.
