Cayman’s reputation as a culinary capital takes centre stage this month for the 15th anniversary of Cayman Cookout, running from 10-15 Jan.
The celebration, hosted by acclaimed chef Eric Ripert, “brings together culinary talents from around the world and showcases the incredible talent within our resort,” said Marc Langevin, general manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman in an article published in the winter 2023/2024 edition of What’s Hot magazine.
Most of the events for the food and drink festival will take place at The Ritz-Carlton.
Long-time participating chefs include Andrew Zimmern, Angie Mar, José Andrés, Enrique Olvera, James Kent and Emeril Lagasse, along with mixologist Charles Joly. The milestone anniversary will be marked by a slew of wine tastings, cooking demonstrations, dinners, poolside parties, epicurean experiences and tours. Event tickets cost from $95 to $5,000.
A number of signature events have already sold out, such as Hooked on Adventure: Deep Sea Fishing with Chef Emeril Lagasse; Pickleball & Rosé presented by Whispering Angel; Rosé Sail featuring Vin Fraîche Rosé and Chef Okan Kizilbayir; and License to Thrill: A Culinary Journey to GoldenEye with Chef Eric Ripert and Craggy Range, taking place in Jamaica.
The entertainment for the weekend will include a Backyard Concert with the Goo Goo Dolls, on the Great Lawn at The Ritz-Carlton on Saturday, 13 Jan., “under a canopy of stars to remind us how music and food bring us together”, according to the organisers.
The culinary festival will finish with a multi-course Crystal Anniversary Gala Dinner at Blue by Eric Ripert, on Sunday, 14 Jan.
