Police have arrested a man who allegedly attacked another man with a machete in Cayman Brac on Thursday afternoon.
The RCIPS said its officers responded to a report of an assault with a bladed weapon in the parking lot of a restaurant on South Side Road West shortly before 12:15pm.
“On arriving at the scene, police observed a man on the ground near a vehicle, with injuries. A second man, armed with a machete was acting aggressively towards the man on the ground,” police said in a statement Friday afternoon.
Officers arrested a 28-year-old man, of West Bay, who lives in the Brac, for assault causing actual bodily harm, possession of an offensive weapon, and damage to property.
Police said they recovered the machete used in the assault.
The injured man was transported to Faith Hospital for treatment of his injuries and was later released.
