A man was in custody Sunday after being arrested following a suspected attempted arson in East End.
The 52-year-old suspect, also of East End, was arrested Saturday after police on patrol on John McLean Drive responded to a report around 8:20pm about a man acting aggressively, making threats and pouring gasoline on a nearby residence.
The suspect had fled the scene before police arrived, the RCIPS said, but he was later located with a machete in his possession.
“He was arrested on suspicion of causing fear or provocation of violence, threats to cause serious injury, and carrying an offensive weapon. He remains in custody as investigations continue,” police said in a statement issued on Sunday afternoon.
