The 345 FC under-10 team ended three days of competition at the Oakham Tournament, where they placed fourth out of six academies.
“Being able to compete – play well, challenge their opponents in all game situations as individuals and team- with the best in England, provided our U10 developmental team with the needed exposure, confidence boost, learning lessons, and motivational trigger for the next few months,” Peter Reijn, head of the 345 FC and Total Soccer Cayman programmes told the Compass.
The Cayman team secured 1-0 wins against Bristol Rovers and Lincoln City, and a 2-1 victory against Blackpool FC, who went on to win the tournament. Cayman’s biggest win came when they bested Leicester City FC 3-0.
Thank you U10’s for representing Cayman, and your team at the highest level,” Reijn said. “With your attitude, effort, skills, game play throughout this week; you certainly have opened new doors for yourselves.”
The 345 team also visited Chelsea FC, in England, where they were treated to an unforgettable training and learning experience.
