US citizen Gregg Sowder, 64, died suddenly Tuesday while travelling by boat through Cayman, according to the RCIPS.
Police said in a Thursday press release that they are investigating the incident but do not suspect foul play.
Police and emergency services responded to a medical emergency at the Royal Watler Cruise Terminal at about 5pm.
“It was reported that a fishing vessel made a stop in George Town at the terminal, at which time one of the men on board the vessel began experiencing difficulties and collapsed on the boat,” the RCIPS said in the release.
Port Authority staff assisted Sowder until an ambulance arrived. Doctors pronounced him dead at the hospital.
Police said the US citizen was travelling from Panama through the Cayman Islands.
