The end of Centre Pointe Dance Studio’s 14th season was celebrated with a three-night performance of ‘It’s Showtime’, held at Harquail Theatre from 3-5 May.
From hip-hop and jazz, to ballet, contemporary, and Caribbean music, over 100 junior and senior students performed a variety of drama, dance and song to a packed audience each night.
“I’m immensely proud of all the children that were on the stage,” Sophie Conolly, the dance studio’s owner, told the Compass. “I was just amazed, and they were all incredible.”
With just six weeks of rehearsals, Conolly said the students and team “pulled off their best showcase yet”.
“We’re a small island doing big things. Just because we’re from a small Caribbean island doesn’t mean that the talent is not huge. These children go off [island] and do amazing things, and it’s a great pleasure to be able to facilitate that and have somewhere to go and showcase the talent.”
Another showcase and an inaugural awards ceremony will be held next month.
