Police are investigating reports of youngsters, believed to be between 12 and 15, firing shots at people from pellet guns or gel blasters.
“While no one has been injured in these incidents, they have caused fear and alarm to members of the community,” the RCIPS said in a statement Tuesday.
Police said they had received “several reports” of the group of kids firing at people between 8pm and 10pm, on Friday and Saturday, 2 and 3 Aug., in the vicinity of Newport Avenue, Keturah Street, Hope Drive and Paxton Street in George Town.
“The RCIPS is advising the juveniles who have been engaged in this activity to desist at once.
“Parents, especially parents of juveniles in possession of this type of toy, are advised to speak to their children about the negative consequences that such activities can have,” police said in the statement.
Anyone who has witnessed these incidents, or who has any other information, can contact police on 949-4222. Anonymous tips can be provided directly to the RCIPS via its confidential tip line at 949-7777, or via its website.
