The football dream continues for Caymanian Molly Kehoe, who has re-signed with Cardiff City after assisting in a successful first season for the team.

Kehoe, 20, kicked off gameplay for the 2024-25 season, contesting in a pair of matches in the UEFA Women’s Champion League earlier this month before getting off to a good start in the Welsh Adran Premier League on 15 Sept., where they beat Wrexham 2-0.

“I’m happy to sign for Cardiff again for my second season,” Kehoe told the Compass. “Last season we won the treble and hope we can remain champions of all three trophies.”

For the 2023-24 season, Kehoe and her teammates captured the Welsh Adran Premier League title, the Genero Adran Trophy and the Bute Energy Welsh Cup while she contributed 10 goals and seven assists.

Now, Kehoe, in her second season with the UK team, said it’s all about putting her best foot forward with the help of great teammates to bring more success to Cardiff.

“We don’t expect the games to be easy, some will be very challenging, but as long as we play the football we know we can play, I think we’ll do great again,” Kehoe said.

A dream come true for Molly Kehoe

Stellar support system

There is no doubt the Bluebirds fans will expect another exceptional season from their squad, especially when considering how well they performed last season.

When it comes to Kehoe, who has established herself as a key starting player for Cardiff, she has felt the love from all the club’s enthusiasts.

“The fans and supporters we have are great,” she said. “They’ve all been very supportive of me since I got here.”

As for her Bluebirds teammates, she said she feels right at home.

“The team has welcomed me, well, from day one,” she said. “I’ve settled in really well and in my second season I’m even more comfortable and confident.

“This season [the team] has changed quite a bit, we lost some players but obviously gained some players. This pre-season has been really good and the new signings are fitting in really well.”

Kehoe will be in action again in a derby home fixture against Cardiff Met on Sunday, 22 Sept.
