Delta Airlines is adding an extra flight between Minneapolis-St. Paul and Grand Cayman to its winter schedule this year, as demand for flights between the US and the Cayman Islands continues to increase.

Just a few weeks after United announced it was going to increase flights into the Cayman Islands, Delta has followed suit by adding a second flight on Fridays between 12 Dec. and 12 April, up from just one flight on Saturdays for the 2023/2024 winter schedule.

Flights between Minneapolis-St. Paul and Grand Cayman will arrive at 1:34pm at Owen Roberts International Airport on Fridays and Saturdays during the winter, and depart on the same days at 2:50pm, with a Boeing 737-800 flying the route.

A spokesperson for Delta told the Cayman Compass the airline was increasing flights on that route as part of their “ongoing commitment to being the leading leisure carrier from Minneapolis-St. Paul”, adding that this winter, the airline’s “seats from [Minneapolis-St. Paul] to Latin America are up 18% year-over-year, further solidifying our position as the largest carrier” from that area to the region.
