Cask
By Catherine MacGillivray
Grand Cayman’s first specialist whisky bar has opened in Camana Bay, bringing a taste of Scotland to the island.
Cask has more than 400 whiskies to try by the glass, 70% of which are Scotch, along with options from other countries such as Ireland, Japan and America.
Additionally, Cask stocks premium world spirits, cocktails and beer to cater to everyone’s palate.
Fast becoming a favourite with Camana Bay’s corporate crowd, the bar offers “traffic drams”, a happy hour from 4-7pm from Monday to Thursday. Dram is a Scottish colloquial term, or an old measurement, for a small glass of whisky.

For those who want to learn more about Scotch, Cask hosts tasting sessions, when you can gain expert tips from the bartenders.
Regular ‘Scotch and Spirit Tasting Flights’ events, during which you can try three whiskies, are ideal for anyone looking for an induction to the drink, or for those who are already connoisseurs.
Corporate aficionados, and other parties, can take their taste for whisky to another level with private events, such as watching sporting events, in The Woodlands – Cask’s tasting room.
For a chance to immerse yourself in a Scottish atmosphere with an international flavour, it’s time to say “sláinte”. The Scottish and Irish Gaelic word means “health”, or “cheers” and is said as a toast before having a dram of whisky.

PullOver board game
A new board game, PullOver, created by Carolee Aaron is now available in Cayman. Carolee has been perfecting the game since its beginnings in 2004.
Stuck at home following Hurricane Ivan, Carolee created PullOver to entertain her daughter and other children during the hurricane’s aftermath.
The racing game is designed around a roadway, and the objective is to get from the starting line to the finish line.
Players move along the board using dice, and there are road signs along the way, depending where you land.
At the beginning of the game, players are given board game cash, and as the game progresses, money is paid to or collected from the various ‘drivers’. Up to six players can take part.
Carolee manufactures the game in the US, and it is currently available on-island at Valu-Med Pharmacy, Winners Circle and Carolee’s business location – Capstone, 50 Mary Street. Other locations are in the works.
D’s Pizza

Drivers passing Regatta Office Park carpark will have noticed a new food truck directly across from Cost U Less.
D’s Pizza is the creation of longtime friends chef Diego Smith and chef Jose You, who dreamed of introducing something truly unique to the Cayman Islands and sharing their story through food.
In May 2024, they began serving Grand Cayman’s only Detroit-style pizza. Inventive toppings and an irresistible crispy cheese crust, perfected in a custom steel pan brought in especially for this purpose, make this a must-try food truck.
The OG Pepperoni, with double the pepperoni and a drizzle of homemade Scotch bonnet hot honey, is already a crowd favourite.
D’s Pizza also offers catering for parties and events at their location.
Island Aquatics
Fish fanatics can rejoice, as a new business has opened catering to their needs.
Island Aquatics offers customers – whether seasoned aquarists or beginners – a unique and tailored online experience.
The company provides a diverse selection of vibrant saltwater and freshwater fish, all of which undergo a thorough quarantine process to ensure optimal health.
Customers also benefit from a WhatsApp helpline for beginners, personalised recommendations, access to rare and exotic species and island-wide delivery.
While the online store so far provides a seamless shopping experience, future plans include a storefront where the community can both shop and learn more about aquatic life.
