Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was fatally shot in George Town on Sunday evening. The victim, a 36-year-old man, was a Jamaican national with family in the Cayman Islands, but police are not revealing his identity until his wider family in Jamaica has been notified.
At around 8:30pm on Sunday 27 Oct., police responded to a report of a man who had been shot in the vicinity of a property on Bronze Road off North Sound Road in George Town.
According to a police statement issued on Monday afternoon, it was reported that the man was outside his residential address when the incident occurred. The man was then transported to the George Town Hospital by private vehicle, where he was pronounced deceased by the attending doctor.
It is currently believed that the murder was the result of a local dispute, and does not appear to be gang related. As an added precaution police have increased their patrols in the vicinity. No arrests have yet been made, and investigators are encouraging witnesses to come forward and assist with the investigation.

Not to worry? It’s not gang related and appears to be a personal dispute. For me it’s uneasy to have a guy or lady roaming in the community with a gun that I could easily piss off. Make it make sense.
