At one time I lived on Cayman. At the time, I couldn’t help but wonder why a puppy, alone, walked up from the beach in front of our car, wet and shivering. I was taken aback, and we of course stopped the car, picked up this poor creature, went to the pet store for food for her, and drove to the police station with the pup.
This is one of many sad, careless examples of the lack of respect, love and indifference that exists for animals on Cayman.
It is a mentality that exists that animals don’t deserve the care and respect of every living being. Why hasn’t anyone helped to provide a decent shelter for the overcrowding, decrepit conditions of the [Humane Society]? Thank god for the volunteers.
Cayman needs to educate the residents that a dog should be neutered or spayed, unless you are a qualified breeder, and prepared to home these puppies to people who will love them, and care and provide for these animals.
If you can’t be kind to animals, then that speaks to your lack of caring for humans. Please help the Humane Society with donations. We must act humanely.
