Small earthquake tremor felt in Grand Cayman

The United States Geological Survey has confirmed that at 9:22pm, a 4.3 magnitude tremor occurred 42 miles southwest of George Town, Grand Cayman at a depth of 6.2 miles.

Hazard Management Cayman Islands is aware of the earthquake. The tremor was not strong enough to result in any damage to structures. However, residents from across the island took to social media to report feeling light shaking.

“No immediate threat is present for the Cayman Islands. Please stay safe and remain alert,” HMCI said in a public statement.
