The United Church in Jamaica and the Cayman Islands held a service on Sunday afternoon for candidates running in the upcoming general election.

Many of the candidates, their family members and supporters were present at the Elmslie Memorial Church in George Town.

During the service, Heber Arch rose to deliver a scripture reading, which came from the prophet Micah chapter 5, verses 1-8.

Handel Whittaker then led the litany of Peace and Unity,  beginning by saying “In Christ, the Cayman Islands is one nation, we are one people, with one goal and one hope.”

The event closed with a hymn, “Let there be Love” and the Passing of the Peace, followed by a prayer for the nation and the candidates, led by Pastor Dr Andrew Ebanks.
