A gunman fired a shot into the ceiling of a business during a robbery at a store in George Town on Wednesday.
Two gunmen were involved in the raid on a store in North Church Street, which netted the thieves several pieces of jewellery, a Royal Cayman Islands Police Service press release said.
Police said the pair fled the scene on foot, believed to be in the direction of Bodden Road, after the robbery, which happened about 11:20am.
Officers later recovered a vehicle believed to be connected to the incident and found two firearms and some jewellery inside.
Police said a man was arrested at a nearby address in connection with the robbery and that he remained in custody.

They said inquiries into the incident continued and appealed for witnesses.
