A schoolboy escaped uninjured after his bike was in collision with a teacher’s car in a school car park on Wednesday 28 May.
The Department of Education Services said the teacher was driving into the school when the pupil’s bicycle “entered into the path of the motor vehicle”.
The teacher was said to have taken evasive action, but the car struck the bike and the pupil hit the ground.
The incident, at John Gray High School on George Town’s Olympic Way, happened at about 8am.
The department said emergency services attended the scene but that neither of those involved required treatment.
It added the incident was a graphic reminder for “students and motorists to remain vigilant and exercise an abundance of caution, particularly in and around school zones”.
