Police are probing two robberies of tourists in the Seven Mile Beach area in less than four hours.

An RCIPS spokesman said a woman was robbed at a resort by an “aggressive” man who stole her wallet and phone.

Police did not identify the resort, but said the woman was not injured as a result of the incident, which happened at about 5:25pm on Wednesday, 3 Dec.

Earlier, two masked men pulled a gold chain off the neck of a male cruise ship visitor at Seven Mile Public Beach. A woman who tried to help was pushed to the ground, suffering minor injuries to her leg. The incident happened at about 1:40pm.

  1. Will someone explain the difference between Jamaica and the Caymans for me? This is how to kill off the tourist trade. In the day not 2am! And of course no one arrested that’s going to play well on the cruise ships!

  2. I guess the time has come for RCIPS personnel to be stationed all day every day at the major beaches. The last thing Cayman needs is for continued daytime robberies on the beaches to become the norm. Now is the time to nip this in the bud. Identify the culprits, apprehend and incarcerate them.
