Here in Weekendersville, we like to keep up with the talented musicians of our fair isles. So we grabbed Little Magic – who appear Live on the Paseo on Friday, 1 March, from 7pm – for some quickfire questions.
Hello again Little Magic, tell us how your year has been so far please.
Hi, 2013 has been outstanding! We had a nice New Year’s show and February showcase at Camana, we’ve started a new gig on Thursdays at Morritt’s, played some nice shows at Bar Jack’s and coming up with some new original songs – its going to be a great year!
What are your plans for the rest of the year? Any releases, tours, balloon trips etc?
Well, we have a “Little Magic & Friends” show at Camana Bay, 7 to 10pm with some new tunes and surprise guests.
Plus Family Resource Centre will be there to tell everyone about Honouring Womens Month and the upcoming release of the 15th Anniversary Calendar for International Women’s Day, which is 8 March. It’s always great to work with them. It’s going to be a lot of fun and a great way to warm up before the big Damian Marley show [at Festival Green that evening].
The next Music and Art Showcase will be at Camana on Friday, 5 April, to promote Earth Month and Earth Day (20 April) – mark your calendars.
We’re planning to get in the studio around the end of spring actually and release some songs by winter 2013 – keep posted on our Facebook page “Little Magic” for the release and events.
Maybe a balloon trip or two to celebrate after. Other than that, making music for the masses!
How about the Cayman music scene. How’s things there?
The Cayman Music scene is so full of talented wonderful musicians. Great to see us collaborating so much and working together. Also great to see a lot of young talent coming up like Cory Allenger, Undiscovered, Arianna Broderick and Inverse to name a few.
What’s your favourite punchline to a joke?
… don’t look at me! You’re the one with a tuba in your shoe!
How do computers work?
I’m pretty sure they have either hamsters or green iguanas on wheels inside; but in Cayman, they should be solar and wind powered.
