Kwik Cricket is great fun for Village Greenies

The Village Greenies Cricket Club coaches will be teaching youngsters the basics of cricket at a special session on Saturday, 2 March.

Kwik Cricket can be played by boys and girls from five years of age and over and presents an opportunity for youngsters to learn all about cricket in all its aspects. Everyone gets a chance to bowl, field and bat in this simplified and fun version of the game.

The ball is soft so there’s no need to have any protective equipment. It’s all about watching and hitting the ball whilst at bat, plus there will be lessons on how to catch and throw for fielders and also underarm or overarm bowling, for all skill levels.

This is all a good, fun way to develop kids’ playing skills and work towards the Kwik Cricket Awards programme, made up of Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards. In the 2012 pilot programme, 22 kids achieved the Bronze level award and organisers say that they are hoping to build on that success.

As well as Cayman Prep, sponsors include Walkers, Samson & McGrath, Tukka, PWC, BCQS and Mourant Ozannes.
