Man charged in shooting

Police can confirm that an
18-year-old man has been charged in connection with a shooting in

West Bay on Thursday evening, 24
June.

About 8.40pm a man was shot near
Kelly’s Bar in West Bay. A friend conveyed him to the Cayman Islands Hospital
where he was treated for a leg injury. He was released from hospital following
treatment. He has been identified by friends and family as Andy Barnes, the
father of 4-year-old Jeremiah Barnes who was killed outside at Esso Station in
Hell in February.

An 18-year-old man, Justin
Manderson, was arrested on Thursday night and he has now been charged with
attempted murder and possession of an unlicensed firearm.

He appeared in court Tuesday.
