Latest scam warning

Royal Cayman Islands Police are
warning of emails or other forms of written communications suggesting the
recipient become involved in an investment scheme or partnership to recover unclaimed
assets left by someone who has died.

It’s a scam, according to
detectives in the RCIPS Financial Crime Unit.

Officers are urging anyone who
receives such an email not to respond.

According to police, the letters
typically ask the receiver to provide personal details like full name, direct
telephone or mobile number and direct fax number and personal e-mail address.

The RCIPS Financial Crime Unit is
warning people that if they do respond to the request they could become the
victim of fraud.
