For a select group of softball
squads now is a time to chase glory and bragging rights. Many have legitimate
cases for a co-ed softball title.
The 2010 Adult Fall Co-Ed Softball
League playoffs are ongoing at the Field of Dreams facility in George Town.
Matches began on Monday and continue through to Thursday in the evenings.
Tuesday offers a triple-header featuring the A and B leagues.
At 6.30pm number three seed the
Caybrew Chuggers (8-4) face the sixth seed KM Ltd (4-7-1) on field four. The
same grounds then pits the number two seed Island Taste Hot Stuff (8-4) doing
battle with last place finisher KPMG A (4-8) at 8.15pm.
Last week’s make-up games saw a
number of shake-ups through the A league. Home Gas (9-3) came away with the regular
season crown once again (the side has done that feat for the seventh straight
year). Caybrew went from fighting Home Gas for the title to a third seed while
Simon Rivers and the A.L. Thompson Hammers (6-6) saw their rookie magic
disappear with a fifth seed.
In between those contests B2
division runners-up team Deloitte (7-5) battle their third place division
rivals the KPMG Bounty Hunters (also 7-5). Both sides chased the A.L.
Thompson’s Drills (7-4-1) who were a solid team behind darts star Earl Smith
and their wealth of sports talents like Kevon Bazil.
