Having had to forgo the Cayman
Islands Netball Association’s 2009 primary school season because they had no
uniforms, Bodden Town Primary’s A and B netball teams beamed as they modelled
their new kits.
The new uniforms were purchased
with a personal $1,100 donation from Minister of Sport Mark Scotland and MLA
Dwayne Seymour, both of whom represent Bodden Town in the Legislative Assembly.
In return for the donation, four
team members presented a thank-you card and framed team photo to Mr. Seymour on
Friday, 19 November.
“Considering the economic crunch,
we really appreciate Mr. Scotland’s and Mr. Seymour’s contribution,” said
Kimberly Litroco, the school’s acting deputy principal and netball coach. “We haven’t had new uniforms for seven years,
and they just didn’t survive after the 2008 season.”
Mr. Seymour gave well-wishes to
team members in their approaching elimination rounds.
“I hope they’ll be motivated by the
new uniforms and colours to bring home the gold.”
