The Immigration Enforcers softball team had a great inaugural season in the Government League. Their only losses throughout the just concluded season was to the Computer Services.
Considering most of the Enforcers had never played softball before, this was an admirable showing compared to the wealth of softball and baseball experience Computer could boast of.
Enforcers skipper Josen Ebanks said: ‘We placed second in the league to Computer and took them to three games in the playoff championship. I feel everyone in the team played like Major League Baseball pros. We played our hearts out against the might Computer Services. Only myself, Stafford Millwood and Johnny Johnson had played before. Softball is mainly played in private schools. I taught my team the fundamentals and the technicals came from Johnny.
‘We came back from 7-0 down and a big winning margin to lose by only six runs. Their pitcher said after that it was their hardest game of the season. Ezron Anderson was our best player in that last game against Computer.’
Ebanks, Anderson, Millwood and Cody Bowen are now playing in the co-ed softball league for the Café del Sol Blazers. They hope the Government League can be revived next year. Ebanks added: ‘I would like to say a big thank you to the management for all the support you gave us through this season. And to the players, you all played like stars. And to all the staff that came out and supported us at every game, especially the final match, a big thank you too.’
