The Foundation for Worldwide International Student Exchange, in cooperation with the Hyatt Hotels and Resorts, has developed a training program for participants who are interested in developing skills and knowledge in the rooms division.
The program provides participants ongoing theoretical training while at the same time receiving practical training in the rooms or food and beverage division.
The Hyatt Regency Grand Cayman recently sent Caymanian, Paul Wylie on this 18 month program to Hyatt Regency McCormick Place, in Chicago, USA.
The training objectives include developing and demonstrating knowledge through a series of training activities providing necessary theoretical knowledge in customer service and business management as it relates to the hospitality industry.
He will also experience mastery and understanding of theoretical knowledge gained through the training course work, on-site guidance and training from direct supervisors through increased responsibilities and positive supervisor evaluations. The training assignments during the 18 months will be in a series of rotations through front and back of house positions in the rooms or food and beverage division.
