Woman stabbed while sleeping

A 62 year old West Bay woman was stabbed while sleeping at her home early Sunday morning, according to the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service.

Officers said the victim was stabbed in the neck and the thumb of her right hand. She was expected to survive her injuries.

Police said the suspected attacker was a 32 year old woman who lived in the same house. Officers believed the incident was the result of a domestic dispute.

The younger woman was arrested Sunday and
remains in police custody.
