Hall helps By Rite tame tough Tigers

It was a case of too many dropped catches as By Rite defeated ESSO Tigers in a rain shortened Cayman T/20 knock out match played at Smith Road Oval last weekend.

Ainsley Hall took his chances and helped By Rite secure the fourth spot available in this exciting T/20 matches. Earlier Victor Campbell and Alister Ifill combined to provide ESSO Tigers with a reachable total. But those catches!

In the women’s T/20, much improved Greenies have taken first drop on League Champions Island Heritage Stingrays by defeating them at the Jimmy Powell Oval. Greenies bowling a better line limited Stingrays to 64 for 6 and knock of the runs winning by 4 wickets. Wiki Hitchman was outstanding taking 2 wickets for 6 runs and a brilliant run out.

In the Division Two league ESSO Cubs finished off their league commitments by inflicting a heavy beating on UCCI/West Bay. Restricting UCCI/West Bay to 132, the Cubs had excellent batting from Omar Willis, Ricardo Roach and Ramon Sealy.

Over at the Jimmy Powell Oval, Aims Consultants felt the weight of Ladel Farquharson’s bat as he racked up another century with 5 fours and 13 sixes. Joining the fun was Kerniel Coley 66 as JJ’s defeated Aims Consultants by 102 runs.

The action reaches fever pitch this weekend at Smith Road Oval. In Division One Cayman T/20, Police will meet By Rite while Prison will face off with Greenies. The winners will compete for the Cayman T/20 championship.
