Savannah business robbed at gunpoint

Police are looking for two men after a Savannah business was robbed at gunpoint on Friday 1 April.

In a statement issued by the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service, a spokesperson said police were dispatched just after 9pm to a report of a robbery at the business on Homestead Crescent in Savannah, Bodden Town.

“It was reported that two masked men entered the premises, one armed with a firearm, the other with a knife, and demanded cash,” said police in a statement.

“The men made off, on foot, with a quantity of cash, in an unknown direction.”

No shots were fired.

However, police say one man who was present at the location sustained minor injuries.

One of the robbers was wearing a long sleeve black shirt, blue jeans and white sneakers. The other was wearing a multicoloured shirt, blue jeans and white sneakers.

This robbery is the most recent incident a string of violent crimes which have occurred in less than a week.

The matter remains under police investigation.
