Three seriously injured in ‘series of violent incidents’

Over the weekend, police have responded to a series of violent incidents that have been reported across Grand Cayman.

Police say three people have been seriously injured as a result.

The first incident occurred around 6pm on Friday. A man was reportedly chopped following an altercation with two other men at a residence off Seaview Road.

The victim was provided with first aid by the attending officers and was transported to hospital by the ambulance.

The second incident took place just before 11:50pm later that night. Police responded to a report that a man had been stabbed and had collapsed on the side of the road. The incident  is said to have taken place at the Marquee Plaza in the vicinity of the Power Supply Bar.

The victim was taken to hospital in a private vehicle, before police arrived. He sustained serious injuries but is now believed to be in stable condition.

The third incident occurred at the Globe Bar located on Mary Street in George Town, where it was reported that, just after 3:45pm on Sunday, an altercation between two men at the bar resulted in one of the men being stabbed in the torso.

The victim was transported to the hospital by private vehicle, where he was treated for serious injuries. He is believed to be stable at this time.

All three incidents are being investigated by the RCIPS and so far, no arrests have been made. Police are aware that there were witnesses to these incidents and investigators are encouraging anyone with information to call the George Town Police Station at 949-4222.
