The Jamaican National Ladies field hockey team is visiting the Cayman Islands for a pre-season training tour on 28-29 Jan.
The team will be playing against the Cayman Islands national team and will also be hosting a coaching session on Saturday at 3pm for any local players who might like to join.
This tour presents an opportunity for the Cayman Islands field hockey community, as it allows them to learn and improve their skills by playing against international competition. It is also a chance for the Jamaican team to prepare for the upcoming season and bond as a team.
“We are excited to welcome the Jamaican National Ladies to the Cayman Islands and are looking forward to a competitive and fun series of games,” Charlie Jackson, Cayman Islands field hockey men’s captain, said.
“This tour is a great opportunity for our players to learn and grow, and we are grateful for the chance to host such a talented team,” he added.
Jamaica’s technical director Michelle Holt echoed this sentiment, stating, “We are thrilled to be visiting the Cayman Islands for this pre-season training tour. It is a great chance for us to bond as a team and prepare for the upcoming season, and we are excited to share our love of field hockey with the local community.”
