Another man charged in Hernandez murder case

Police have charged a third suspect in connection with the murder of Divonte Hernandez, who was shot dead in George Town late last month.

RCIPS officers arrested George Orlando Senior, 35, of East End, on Wednesday, 18 Oct., and announced on Friday afternoon that he had been formally charged with murder. He is due to appear before the court on Monday, 23 Oct.

A 32-year-old-woman, of West Bay, who was also arrested on Wednesday, on suspicion of being an accessory after the fact, has been bailed pending further investigation, police said.

Sean Austin Conolly Amaya, 24, of George Town, was earlier charged with Hernandez’s murder. He appeared in Summary Court on 9 Oct. and was remanded in custody.

Another man, Maurice Ray Chin, 22, of Bodden Town, was arrested earlier on suspicion of conspiracy to murder in relation to the shooting. He has not been charged in relation to the murder, but has been charged with possession of a prohibited weapon. He has also been remanded in custody.

Hernandez, 24, of George Town, was gunned down in broad daylight on 29 Sept. in a parking lot off Sound Way, by the intersection of Eastern Avenue and Shedden Road.
