Police have arrested and charged four men with conspiracy to commit robbery connected to an incident in May 2023.
They appeared in court Tuesday, and according to a Royal Cayman Islands Police Service press release, the men were bailed with conditions and are scheduled to return to court 14 May.
The defendants include three men from Bodden Town ages 21, 22 and 28, as well as a 22-year-old George Town man.
In a release issued on 20 May 2023, the RCIPS said at the time that officers responded to the alleged robbery at a North Church Street business the previous day. The RCIPS did not identify the store.
Two masked men allegedly entered the shop, each with a firearm, demanded cash from the register and safe, and then fled with an unspecified amount of money.
“No shots were fired, and no one was injured during the incident,” that release said.
At the time, officers found a vehicle they suspected the men had used, and recovered it for forensic analysis.
RCIPS did not detail the suspected role of the other two men in the 23 April press release.
