One person was killed and another suffered serious injuries in a two-vehicle collision on Shamrock Road early this morning, police have said.
The crash took place around 2:30am off Pasture Drive, according to a Royal Cayman Islands Police Service press release.
Both drivers were taken to the hospital with grave injuries.
While the driver of an Isuzu Elf is still being treated, the other driver, a 60-year-old man of East End driving a Honda Fit, was pronounced dead by doctors at the hospital.
Officers remained to investigate the accident, temporarily shutting down Shamrock Road.
They have since reopened the road but continue the investigation.
The 60-year-old man is the third person this week to die in a car crash on Shamrock Road.
On Monday, two people died after a BMW crashed into a wall.
RCIPS encourages anyone with information to call the Bodden Town Police Station at 947-2220.
