A 46-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an alleged attempted murder with a machete over the weekend.
Police said they were called to a home on Hell Road, West Bay, just after 12:30am on Saturday, 15 Nov.
A spokesman added they found a man with “serious but non-life threatening” wounds to his head and face, who was taken to hospital for treatment.
He said a woman at the scene, who appeared to be in distress, told them that a man she knew had carried out the assault.
The spokesman added she had suffered minor injuries, but declined treatment.
He said the alleged attacker was traced and arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
Police said investigations continued and the man had been detained in custody.
