Three people were rescued by the Cayman Islands Coast Guard from the North Sound after their boat started to sink.
Just before 5pm on Friday, 21 Nov., the Coast Guard received an alert that a vessel had started to sink west of Stingray City and Coral Gardens.
There was no safety equipment such as life jackets onboard and one of the three occupants of the boat was unable to swim, making the situation especially perilous, the Coast Guard said in a statement.
Mayday alert sounded

The statement noted, “The successful outcome was a result of seamless teamwork between our watch officers and the boat crew.”
It urged everyone to check their gear before leaving the dock, saying, “Having a life vest for every person on board isn’t just the law, it’s the most important preparation you can make.”
