The Cayman Islands Darts Association has confirmed that two representatives will travel to Panama to participate in the World Cup Regional Qualifier Final.
Hank Ebanks and Chris Torrie, both veteran competitors within the local darts circuit, have been selected to represent Cayman in this international competition, to be hosted on 23-26 April.
Accompanying the duo is the Cayman Islands Darts Association president Kruse Smith, who intends to engage with international officials during the trip to discuss the possibility of hosting sanctioned tournaments within Cayman in the future.
A successful performance in Panama would result in a historic debut for the Cayman Islands at the 2026 BetVictor World Cup of Darts, which is scheduled to take place at the Eissporthalle in Frankfurt, Germany, on 11-14 June.
Currently headlined by defending champions Northern Ireland, the World Cup of Darts will feature a field of 40 two-player national teams and offers a total prize fund of £500,000 (CI$561,600).
The event utilises a doubles format, requiring consistent coordination and strategic synergy between teammates.
The Cayman Islands Darts Association expressed immense pride in both representatives, noting that their participation in the qualifier reflects years of dedication to growing the sport locally.
The association calls on the Cayman community to rally behind Ebanks and Torrie as they take on this exciting challenge in Panama.
