After four seasons, Scholars ISC have reclaimed the throne, closing out the 2025/26 local football season as Men’s FA Cup champions.
After kicking off back in March, the Men’s FA Cup reached its climax on Wednesday, 10 June, at the Timothy McField Stadium (The Annex), with Scholars edging out Academy SC in a narrow 2-1 final.
The breakthrough came in the 31st minute when Scholars’ Kameron Mendez capitalised on a crucial opportunity inside the penalty box bringing the score to 1-0.
Just moments before the halftime whistle, Elijah Seymour of Academy SC found the back of the net in the 43rd minute to equalize the score.
Scholars wasted no time after the restart, as Brandon Ebanks restored Scholars lead in the 48th minute, ultimately solidifying the win for his team.

Reflecting on the near-score game, Scholar’s captain D’Andre Rowe acknowledged Academy being a possession-heavy team, so for him, his squad’s win boiled down to “taking our chances and having that [lethal] instinct in front of the goal”.
“Academy is a well-organised team with a lot of talent, so there were times where we had to go away from the game plan and try something new to restrict them,” Rowe said.
He went on to say, “They move the ball so well and quick. They overloaded the midfield a lot which made it difficult for us, so we had to make sure we stayed dialled in.”
Despite the strengths of their opponents, Rowe said his team never doubted that they would take the win.
“Everyone prepared well, and all of the players really wanted this trophy to cap off a brilliant second half of the season where we’ve only lost one game and have been unbeaten since February,” Rowe said.
