Cayman’s seniors are the fastest-growing age group, with life expectancy exceeding 82 years. Many remain vibrant symbols of resilience, yet ageing Caymanians also face loneliness, poverty, inadequate pensions and gaps in health and social care.
Older Persons Council to meet the public
The Older Persons’ Council is seeking input from Cayman’s senior citizen population and their families through a series of meetings in each of the Cayman Islands’ six districts.

Deadline for membership of Council of Older Persons extended
The deadline for applying for members of the new Council of Older Persons has been extended to Friday, Aug. 11. According to a government press release, people who wish to submit a resume to join the council "must be active, have a proven track record in advocating for older persons locally and be able to attend the council’s once-monthly meetings."
Older persons council seeks community representatives
The newly established Council for Older Persons is looking for six community members, ages 65 and older, to join the committee by the end of July.
Government approves ‘Older Persons’ Policy’
Cabinet this week approved an “Older Persons’ Policy” that will span the next 20 years, according to the Ministry for Community Affairs.
