The Cayman Islands Equestrian Federation hosted its largest dressage event so far this year in a dual-competition weekend.

Last weekend saw the Cayman leg of the annual international equestrian competition between the Caribbean Islands of Antigua, Bermuda, Barbados, Jamaica, Trinidad and the Cayman Islands take place at The Equestrian Center, located on the Linford Pierson Highway.

Under sunny skies Sunday, Cayman’s equestrians rode for the chance to represent the Cayman Islands in the Caribbean Equestrian Association’s fourth annual Regional Jumping Challenge.

The Cayman Islands equestrian team of Chloe Fowler and Ashley van den Bol brought home Reserve Champion trophies after a tie-breaker with Bermuda at the recent Caribbean Junior Jumping Competition sponsored by the Pan American Equestrian Confederation.

The Cayman Islands Equestrian Team won first place (adults) and second place (children) in the 2017 Caribbean Equestrian Association (CEA) Caribbean Dressage Challenge.

The Cayman Islands Equestrian Federation kicked off its National Dressage Series over the weekend with its first show of the season. The series consists of four dressage shows between November and May.

The new equestrian show season opened on Oct. 16 with the first national jumping series, at the Equestrian Centre off Linford Pierson Highway. Judge Tanya Neville-Dickson presided and Cayman Islands Equestrian Federation President Sharon Hinds was show manager.
