The Cayman Islands Equestrian Federation hosted its largest dressage event so far this year, bringing together riders from across Cayman for a dual-competition weekend.

Held at the Cayman Islands Equestrian Center off the Linford Pierson Highway, the event featured both the Caribbean Equestrian Association (CEA) Regional and Mini Dressage Challenge and the 7th National Dressage Show of the 2025/2026 season.

The CEA Regional and Mini Dressage Challenge allows riders of its member nations to compete against their regional peers without the logistical challenges of international travel.

“Instead, a single internationally accredited judge travels between participating countries to ensure consistent and fair evaluation,” stated a Cayman Islands Equestrian Federation press release.

Officiating both competitions was Alexandre Lacerda Leão, an International Federation for Equestrian Sports four-star judge from Brazil.

“He praised the high standard of riding, the quality of the horses, and the excellent facilities in Cayman,” said the federation.

Competitors in the Challenge were ranked both individually and as part of their national teams.

“Final regional standings for Cayman’s riders and the Cayman National Team will be announced once all participating countries have completed their competitions in 2026,” the federation said.
