The Cayman Islands Equestrian Federation is nearing the end of its 2025/26 season, which will conclude with the Fédération Équestre Internationale Dressage World Challenge.
The final show will be hosted at the Cayman Islands Equestrian Center, located just off the Linford Pierson Highway in George Town.
On Saturday, 6 June, the Dressage World Challenge will take centre stage followed by the National Dressage Show #8, on Sunday, 7 June. Action is scheduled to begin at 8am on both days.
Designed by the Fédération Équestre Internationale , the global governing body for equestrian sports, the World Challenge series serves a unique purpose.
“The aim of the FEI World Challenge series is to offer athletes who, under normal circumstances, cannot take part in international competitions due to various factors (travel cost and distances for example), the opportunity to compete internationally without having to leave their own country,” stated the Fédération Équestre Internationale’s website.

The Fédération added, “These “hybrid” competitions are meant as a bridge between the National and first International level of competition and are meant to help National Federations develop the various disciplines in their country.”
Sandra Gowrie, vice president of the Cayman Islands Equestrian Federation, said, “The FEI Dressage World Challenge provides Cayman’s riders with a unique opportunity to measure themselves against international standards while competing on home soil.
“It is an invaluable platform for developing talent, building confidence, and showcasing the progress of our local equestrian community on the global stage.”
Five visiting Fédération Équestre Internationale officials hailing from Mexico, Panama, Poland, and Portugal will arrive to Cayman to officiate the event.
