Kayla Powery Hewitt was given a suspended sentence Thursday on charges of possession of an unlicensed firearm related to a shooting outside Fete Night Club in February of last year.
Two men were sentenced to 12 years imprisonment on Thursday for causing grievous bodily harm to Carlney Campbell, who was shot in the early hours of Saturday, Feb. 4, in the vicinity of Fete nightclub along West Bay Road.
Three defendants were found not guilty of attempted murder Wednesday in relation to a Feb. 4 assault and shooting outside the Fete nightclub. Two men, however, were found guilty on an alternative charge of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions Patrick Moran concluded his case on Tuesday against five people on charges arising from an incident outside Fete Night Club in which two men were assaulted and one of them shot in the early hours of Feb. 4 this year.
Kayla Powery Hewitt, wife of Kashwayne Hewitt, appeared in Summary Court on Friday charged with possessing an unlicensed firearm with him on or before Feb. 10, 2017.
A judge discharged the jury Thursday in the trial of four people charged in relation to a shooting outside a West Bay Road nightclub. A new trial has been set for Nov. 20.
